Since the summer of 2005, Prince William Master Gardeners have been a part of The Prince William County Public Library Summer Quest Reading Program.  Our presentations have been developed around the Summer Quest theme.   The theme for summer 2016 is “Exploring Fascinating Plants Around the World.”  Master Gardeners taught school aged children and their parents about the uses of plants in Africa, Asia, North, South and Central America and in our own state. Twelve Master Gardener Volunteers designed hands on gardening activities  and take home projects for each participant.

This summaryof the 2016 Summer Quest season is provided by Master Gardener and chairperson, Gloria Miller.

Thank you for volunteering your time and talents as we went around the world with the Master Gardener Summer Quest program.  There were 207 children and 100 adults who joined us on our journey at the 9 libraries.   The children and adults enjoyed their travels and the librarians were happy to see us.

Thank you again for a successful Summer Quest program.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.
