The ACTS landscaping project began in 2008 and the goal was to enhance the area surrounding ACTS with native plantings to provide a sanctuary for wildlife and a place of respite for the residents. Additionally, over time classes will be scheduled to teach best management practices for developing and maintaining a sustainable landscape. Master Gardeners, and occasionally other community volunteers work as a team to take residential/commercial projects through full lifecycle; provide a service to the community; provide a tranquil retreat to those in stress.
This landscaping also is necessary to meet city ordinances for plant material on the site. This project also provides a service for participation of Master Gardeners who live in the eastern part of Prince William County.
